Apple Picking Adventures

B.J. Reese Apple Orchard

For the second year in a row, the Miller family has made the trek (only two hours so not too bad) up to Elijay to partake in the seasonal apple picking at BJ Reese Apple Orchard. Donning our festive plaid shirts, we took to the rolling hills of tree after tree trying to find the perfect mix of apple varieties in all shapes and sizes. This year we could not have asked for more perfect weather and made it home with an insane amount of apples. Miabella was the dedicated apple picker, and even reached the apples at the top of the tree (with a little help from Daddy, of course)! At 25 weeks pregnant, Al was a trooper putting in a full day in the orchard! Check out ourĀ favorite highlights below!

Burt’s Pumpkin Patch

We love Burts Pumpkin Patch! Located just down the road from BJ Reese, we headed over to select a pumpkin (or two or four) to get ready for Halloween! After our GINORMOUS pumpkin last year, we decided there was no going back and the large pumpkins were the only ones for the Miller family. After searching high and low, through rows and rows of pumpkins, Mia decided this year the spookiest pumpkin was the large white ones. After careful and thoughtful consideration, Mia selected a “perfect smooky” one to take home. She also picked out a baby pumpkin for her brother “Jacksie,” a bumpy pumpkin because she had never seen on before, and a medium sized pumpkin for her mom. After all was said and done, we headed home from our trip with 4 pumpkins, a baby scarecrow decoration, and a slice of pumpkin cheesecake bread for Al. Yet another successful trip to North Georgia! Can’t wait to do it again next year with the boy in tow!
