Move In Weekend

The day is finally here! After a long, fun day at the lawyers office signing all the mortgage documents, The Millers officially have the keys to our VERY FIRST HOME!

The morning started at the lawyers office with our AMAZING realtor and family friend, Debbie Cortjens. Seriously, if you are in need of a realtor, Debbie is the woman to talk to! Sadly Patrick was stuck at work with a huge shoot day, but had plans to meet Ally and Mia as soon as he was wrapped. When we first got to the office, the listing agent handed me an envelope with our keys to the house inside. It was such an amazing thing and the whole situation didn’t even feel real. WOOHOO!

Then came the many hours of paper review and signing…Who new there would be SO MUCH to do! All the time, Ally was getting so anxious and excited to get over to the new house that she could hardly contain her excitement. And, of course, Al made sure to capture the moment on video to prove it really happened! WE’RE HOMEOWNERS!

So excited, Ally and Mia took the day off from school and work to get the move move-in started right away. After packing all night the night before, the girls started with whatever could be packed into the car and started to unload at the house. Most of the stuff was wedding presents from almost a year before, so it was fun getting to open everything and relive memories of the wedding too! In the evening, Mom and Dad Miller were able to come up for a much needed Pizza Party in our empty house, and we were joined by our friends Joe, Ashlee and Rocco Lepore. We are SO lucky that the Lepores live right around the corner. LITERALLY! How amazing is it to have such amazing friends live in walking distance?!? I see many a fun nights and days in our futures so stay posted for more adventures from that camp. Anyway, we had a great Pizza party and the Lepores brought an awesome housewarming basket and delicious cake to celebrate. So exhausted, we decided to have a campout sleepover on the floor since none of the furniture had made it over yet. Good idea in theory, but I think we’re getting to old to not have mattresses. Floor 1 – Back 0.

The next day, BUBBA came in to visit and see our new house! Wasting no time, we put him to work and enlisted the help of the one and only RJ Allen to start the manual labor. 2 UHaul and truck trips later, the men were finally ready to unload the furniture and start setting everything up! Such a fun and exciting day and we were so happy my Dad was here to be a part of it. Thank you to everyone that helped us this weekend and we are so grateful for how amazing our lives are turning out. We could never have imagined being SO BLESSED!  Now all we need is a little time to get the house settled and we’ll be good to go!
